Getting outside on mountain bikes is good for mental and physical health; it builds community and confidence, strength and resilience in everyday life. Our endeavour is to share that opportunity, connect humans with nature and amplify the voices of those who are often unheard.
Aneela's a mountain bike guide, coach, mentor, community advocate, diversity & inclusion expert and business woman whose entire life is dedicated to making cycling more inclusive.
Her dedication to equality is reflected in her personal, academic and professional achievements. She is an expert in her field and a professional mountain bike guide & coach who’s worked in cycling and outdoors for over a decade. Combining this with a lifetime in the diversity and inclusion field, Aneela’s uniquely placed to offer an original approach to making mountain biking inclusive for all.
After The Storm is a new documentary we made. It reveals the remarkable story of diversity pioneer Aneela McKenna who has tackled racism and discrimination in her own life with the help of mountain biking and now asks the mountain bike world to do the same.
Join the adventure to #RIDEOVERRACISM and make mountain biking a more diverse and inclusive space. Beyond the film's premiere at Kendal Mountain Film Festival in November 2021, After the Storm will be available via a ‘Diversity Tour’ for private (online and in person) screening to groups, businesses and organisations beyond and within the MTB, cycling and outdoors sectors combined with expertly facilitated discussion around diversity and inclusion, allyship, barriers to inclusivity and overcoming these challenges. We welcome requests.
WHAT WE DO
We offer a range of hands on, fun and interactive experiences to suit and address the particular needs of individuals, groups and organisations big or small.
Community, Confidence and Resilience
Grow Yourself through Mountain Biking
A development programme to build confidence and resilience through mountain biking - offering leadership and mentoring aimed at diverse groups whilst taking part in fun, novel and engaging activities.
Diversity in the Outdoors
Creating Positive Outdoor Experiences for All
From subsidised activities, to offering training and targeted programmes to increase participation in cycling and the outdoors, we use the natural environment to build personal resilience and increase confidence with a particular emphasis on POC, young girls and women.
Storytelling through Lived Experience
Sharing our story and our passion speaking at events and conferences, through film, podcasts, audio, writing blogs, opinion pieces and contributing to client social media. But more than what we can create - at the centre of our activities is amplifying marginalised voices in the MTB, cycling and outdoor space.
We'd love to hear from you!
